| I have always been driven by the storytelling aspect of documentary photography. Over the years I have developed an intuitive approach to photographing weddings. A documentary approach allows me to focus on the mood of the day by taking in the details of the surroundings as well as capturing the telling moments of the day. My goal is that when you look back at your photos, they will remind you not only of the events of the day, but of how you felt. |

| Portraits are a small but important part of the photos. I break the portraits down into three categories. Found portraits are unplanned and spontaneous and fall into the documentary nature of the work. For the family group shots, I like to keep it simple and clean, finding an appropriate location with a clean background and flattering light. I like to have some additional time to work with the bride and groom on some more controlled, art directed portraits. This is a great opportunity to work together to come up with a series of portraits that reflect your individual personalities. |
